65 killed in first 10 days of Lebanon ceasefire

Beirut (ANTARA) - Approximately 65 people have been killed and up to 170 others wounded during the first 10 days of the Lebanon-Israel ceasefire, with between 180 and 230 Israeli violations recorded, Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar reported on Tuesday, citing data from the Ministry of Public Health and field reports. The violations by Israel include airstrikes, artillery shelling, ground attacks, and intensive drone flights, the report stated. Meanwhile, a Lebanese security source told Xinhua on Tuesday that Israeli settlers crossed into southern Lebanon under military protection, and the Israeli army used a drone to raise its flag on the eastern side of the Ali al-Taher Heights. The official Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli artillery shelled several border areas. The Ministry of Public Health said in a statement that the cumulative death toll from Israeli attacks since 2 March has reached 4,320, with 12,203 others wounded. These developments occurred despite a framework agreement signed by Lebanon and Israel on 26 June, which provides for a ceasefire and de-escalation along Lebanon’s southern border.
