64,000 Vehicles Pass Through MBZ Toll Road Towards Jakarta Today
PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) recorded vehicle volumes during the return flow towards Jakarta via the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Elevated Road (MBZ). Jasa Marga revealed that vehicle volumes rose by up to 202% on H+3 of Eid.
“A very significant increase in vehicle traffic volumes occurred on the MBZ Elevated Road section, particularly in the return flow towards Jakarta,” said JJC President Director Hendri Taufik in Bekasi, as reported by Antara news agency on Wednesday (25/3/2026).
Jasa Marga recorded 64,573 vehicles travelling towards Jakarta. This figure increased by 202.53% compared to normal traffic of 21,344 vehicles.
This increase indicates high movement of the return flow of the public after the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday, with vehicle volume increases occurring throughout the day, from morning to night.
Meanwhile, vehicles leaving Jakarta during the same period also continued to increase, with 33,197 vehicles recorded, or a 57.68% rise compared to normal traffic of 21,054 vehicles.
“This condition shows that traffic movement is still occurring in both directions, although the flow towards Jakarta is dominant,” said Hendri.
Hendri urged road users to manage their travel times to avoid potential traffic density during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah return flow period.
“Road users are expected to avoid times of high potential density, prepare their journeys well, and take advantage of the 30% toll discount on 26-27 March 2026 to ensure journeys remain smooth and comfortable,” he stated.
Hendri said that overall, traffic conditions on the MBZ Elevated Road section were still monitored as smooth and under control. Road users were advised to anticipate potential weather changes, especially rain, which could affect visibility and road surface conditions.
