Jakarta – The free mudik (homecoming) programme is being held again this year. More than 64,000 travellers will be transported using approximately 1,400 buses.

Nearly 33,000 travellers will use 99 train sets, and more than 5,000 travellers will use 42 ships. They are participating in the programme initiated by the BUMN Regulatory Board and BPI Danantara.

The travellers are being dispatched to various regions across Indonesia. One of the companies involved in this programme is PT Asuransi Jiwa Taspen (Taspen Life). The company is providing insurance protection support for programme participants.

A total of 800 travellers participating in the Comfortable Mudik Together programme with PT TASPEN (Persero) are receiving free insurance through the Taspen Group Personal Accident product.

The protection provided includes life insurance and personal accident coverage with a coverage value of Rp20 million throughout the mudik journey. Acting Chief Executive Officer of Taspen Life, R. Bayu Irawan, stated that his company’s involvement represents a form of support for people’s safety and comfort during their homecoming trips.

“Through the spirit of ‘Comfortable Mudik Together 2026’, we hope that the synergy within the TASPEN Group provides broad benefits to participants. We want to ensure that the moment of gathering with family not only runs smoothly in terms of logistics, but also provides a sense of peace and security as each participant is protected by Taspen Life insurance,” he said on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

Beyond supporting the mudik programme, Taspen Life has also served more than 1.3 million participants throughout Indonesia. The company also claims to continuously maintain its performance and service to its policyholders.

The free mudik programme is expected to assist the public, particularly in reducing travel costs whilst ensuring the homecoming journey runs more safely and comfortably.
