629 MPR, DPR, DPD Members Attend Annual Session to Witness Prabowo's Speech

Jakarta - The Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), the House of Representatives (DPR), and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) with the president ahead of the 17 August 2026 Independence Day commemoration has commenced. The majority of the people’s representatives in the legislative bodies were in attendance, though not all were present.

Chairman of the MPR Ahmad Muzani stated that, based on the attendance list compiled by the MPR Secretariat, 629 legislative members were present out of a total of 732 MPR members, which comprises DPR and DPD members.

“As of today, 629 members out of 732 MPR members, consisting of DPR and DPD members, are in attendance,” Muzani said while opening the Annual Session at the Parliament Building, Jakarta, Friday (14/8/2026).

Pursuant to Article 99 letter C of the MPR Standing Orders, Article 281 paragraph 1 of the DPR Standing Orders, and Article 256 paragraph 5 of the DPD Standing Orders, the session had met the quorum to be opened.

“Therefore, by saying Bismillahirrahmaanirrahim, the 2026 MPR Annual Session and the 2026 Joint Session of the DPR and DPD, with the agenda of the performance report of state institutions to be delivered by the President, and the President’s state address in the context of the 18th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, I declare open and open to the public,” Muzani declared.
