623 diarrhea cases in East Flores

EAST FLORES, East Nusa Tenggara: The East Flores regency administration recorded 623 cases of diarrhea in seven districts over the last four weeks, which have claimed a total of two lives so far.

A spokesperson for the East Nusa Tenggara governor, Umbu Saga Anakaka, said on Monday that the figures had been reported by the East Flores regency secretary, Landualdus Mekeng.

He said that the administration had taken action to deal with the situation, including the providing of free medical treatment and medicines to the victims.

"Medical teams are on standby in the seven districts to provide free treatment," said East Flores health office director Eduardus Kleruk. -- JP
