620 Residents Displaced Following Kemayoran Fire, 304 Buildings Destroyed

JAKARTA — Approximately 620 residents affected by a fire in Kebon Kosong, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, have been evacuated to a multipurpose field owned by Jusuf Hamka. This figure was compiled by the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) as of 1:00 PM WIB on Tuesday (2/6/2026).

“The data we have gathered up until this afternoon shows that approximately 620 people have been impacted by the fire in Kebon Kosong Village,” stated the Head of Jakarta BPBD, Marulitua Sijabat, at the evacuation site on Tuesday.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the BPBD recorded eight casualties sustaining injuries, consisting of six women and two men. All injured individuals have received medical treatment at Hermina Hospital.

In addition to medical care, ready-to-eat food supplies and 200 boxes of mineral water were distributed to the evacuees on Tuesday afternoon. Since 12:00 PM WIB, residents have also begun queuing for lunch in front of the public kitchen tents.

Marulitua noted that the Central Jakarta City Government, alongside the Jakarta Provincial Government, is also distributing non-food assistance to the victims. Furthermore, coordination with the Environmental Agency is underway to provide mobile toilets. The PLN (State Electricity Company) is scheduled to provide electricity to the evacuation tents on Tuesday night.
