62 SPPG Kitchens in Tangerang Halt Operations as Central Budget Disbursement Stalls
The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) of Tangerang Regency, Banten, has reported that 62 kitchens belonging to the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) in the area have temporarily ceased operations. The SPPG kitchens have stopped while awaiting budget disbursement.
“A total of 62 SPPG have stopped, mostly because the budget has not yet been disbursed,” said BGN Tangerang Regency Regional Coordinator Priyo Basuki in Tangerang on Wednesday.
He stated that the operational suspension of SPPG kitchens across several sub-districts in Tangerang Regency has been ongoing for the past week. The reason is that the budget has not been disbursed from the central BGN.
“It has been happening since this week, most SPPG that stopped are due to the budget not coming down. But for the new SPPG, they will be running,” he said.
According to him, the restoration of operations at these SPPG kitchens will occur after operational funds are sent to each SPPG by the central BGN.
Priyo explained that in Tangerang Regency there are 295 SPPG with a total coverage of 750,220 beneficiaries.
For context, the budget or incentive for this flagship programme of President Prabowo Subianto is regulated based on a decree from the Head of BGN concerning technical guidelines for the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme.
The basis for calculation is a value of Rp6 million per day, derived from an estimated cost for facilities including land rental, kitchen buildings, warehouses, modern cooking equipment, and others amounting to Rp2,000 per portion, multiplied by a maximum service capacity of 3,000 beneficiaries.
The incentive is provided for 313 days a year, excluding Sundays from the 365-day year, and is paid at most every two weeks of operation.
Meanwhile, three new leaders of the BGN have been officially inaugurated through Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18/M of 2026, dated 8 June 2026. The three are Head of BGN Naniek Sudaryati Deyang and her two deputies, Major General TNI Trenggono and Agustina Arumsari.
Separately, Head of the Presidential Staff Office Dudung Abdurachman held an audience with Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Nanik S. Deyang and her two deputies, Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI (Ret.) Trenggono, to discuss the evaluation of beneficiaries and the operations of the free nutritious meal (MBG) kitchens.
