6,000 sarongs for becak drivers

UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: The mayoralty office donated
6,000 sarongs as Idul Fitri gifts to becak, or pedicab, drivers
from 11 subdistricts here yesterday.

Mayor Malik Masry, who presented the gifts, said the sarongs
were gifts from the mayoralty and local businesspeople.

The mayor called on becak drivers to be good citizens and work
together to maintain order.

"Let's follow the existing regulations, and let's keep the
city clean. Do not litter," Masri was quoted by Antara as saying.
