60-Centimetre Flood Submerges Bintaro Road in South Jakarta; Residents' Homes Also Flooded
Flooding occurred in several areas of South Jakarta after heavy rain swept in overnight. Roads and residents’ homes were inundated. The information was shared by the Metro Jaya Police’s Traffic Management Center (TMC Polda Metro Jaya) via its official X account, as reported by detikcom on Sunday (8 March 2026). In the post, footage shows Jalan Bintaro Raya in South Jakarta with several residents’ homes flooded.
“There is standing water up to 60 cm on Jl. Bintaro Permai IV Rt. 008 and 005/09 Kel. Bintaro Kec. Pesanggrahan South Jakarta; road users travelling through are advised to proceed with caution,” the TMC statement read.
A similar situation was also reported on Jalan Swadarma Raya, Pesanggrahan up to Jalan Daan Mogot. Police asked road users to exercise caution.
“There is ponding on Jalan Swadarma Raya Rt.005/03 Kel. Ulujami Kec. Pesanggrahan South Jakarta. Currently not passable by vehicles; road users are advised to seek alternative routes,” it added.
“There is ponding at several points in South Jakarta, namely Jl Pondok Karya, Jl Iskandar Muda in front of Gandaria City and Jl Kemang Utara; motorists are urged to stay vigilant and seek alternative routes,” it concluded.
