6 Student Suspects in Bandung May Day Clashes Test Positive for Tramadol Consumption
This is highly concerning. In addition to carrying out anarchic actions, the suspects were found to be under the influence of the prohibited drug Tramadol during their activities,” said the Head of Public Relations of West Java Police, Kombes Hendra Rochmawan, as reported by detikJabar on Saturday (2/5/2026).
In addition to the clashes, the police are also following up on the use of that prohibited drug.
“Regarding this finding, the case is also being handled by the Narcotics Directorate of West Java Police,” he added.
In addition to the urine test results, officers also seized various types of psychotropic drugs from one of the suspects in the form of Alprazolam, Mersi, Euforis, and Risperidon pills.
“We also secured various attributes indicating the”rebel student” group and anti-fascist symbols, which were confiscated from the perpetrators’ bags,” he said.
Hendra stated that they will delve deeper into the involvement of certain groups. It is suspected that certain groups are trying to exploit these students to incite violent actions.
“We will conduct in-depth examinations regarding the origin of these drugs and the motivation behind the resistance symbols they carried. We urge parents to more strictly monitor their children’s social circles and activities to avoid getting trapped in the vortex of anarchism and drugs,” he concluded.
