The company states this policy is applied to protect the privacy of the blocking user. ‘We intentionally make this ambiguous to protect your privacy when blocking someone. Thus, we cannot inform you if you have been blocked by others,’ WhatsApp explained. Here are six signs your WhatsApp number has been blocked by someone:
- No Profile Picture
One sign of being blocked is inability to view the person’s profile picture. However, this could also indicate the user has deliberately hidden or not used a profile picture, or that your contact number is not saved.
- Single Tick
Users can confirm a message has been sent by checking for two ticks. If the ticks turn blue, the message has been read. If neither tick appears, you may have been blocked. However, it could also mean the message failed to send due to no internet connection.
- Missing Last Seen Status
Another sign is the absence of the Last Seen status. This feature shows when a user was last active on WhatsApp. The absence could also be because the user has disabled the feature, so it’s not only you who cannot see it.
- Unable to Call
You cannot call someone if they have blocked you. The call status will show ‘calling’ instead of ‘ringing’. However, don’t panic immediately, as the person may not be connected to the internet, possibly due to no data package or poor network coverage.
- Unable to View WhatsApp Status
The person’s WhatsApp status cannot be viewed if blocked. However, this could also be because they have enabled Private Status for specific people only.
- Unable to Add to Group
