6 Provinces Implement Vehicle Tax Amnesty in June 2026: Full List
Several local governments in Indonesia are reintroducing vehicle tax amnesty and relief programmes for June 2026, aiming to alleviate public burden and enhance taxpayer compliance. According to compiled data, the initiative is not nationwide but varies by province in terms of regulations, duration, and relief types. The following provinces are actively offering vehicle tax amnesty in June 2026:
The Jakarta Provincial Government waives administrative penalties or late interest on Vehicle Tax (PKB) and Vehicle Transfer Tax (BBNKB), with relief applied automatically without requiring special applications during payment.
Central Java Province applies a 5% reduction on the PKB principal, adjustments to administrative penalties, and specific arrears reductions. The programme applies automatically for taxpayers paying directly at Samsat offices.
Residents of Central Kalimantan can benefit from PKB fine waivers and previous-year SWDKLLJ fines, alongside a 2% to 6% discount on the PKB principal for those paying before the due date.
Bengkulu Provincial Government waives late payment penalties and all previous-year arrears, requiring taxpayers to pay only the current year’s tax to reinstate their status.
Bali offers an 8% reduction on the PKB principal for vehicles up to 200cc engine capacity and 9% for larger engines, plus reduced BBNKB fees as per regulations.
Lampung Provincial Government describes the scheme as a relief or discount, where defaulters pay the current year’s tax plus 50% of the first-year arrears, with remaining previous-year arrears and penalties waived.
Editor’s note: Tax amnesty programmes in Aceh and Southeast Sulawesi have reportedly concluded in April 2026. Residents are advised to take advantage of the current window before provincial deadlines expire to avoid future penalties.
Vehicle owners should prepare supporting documents including the original STNK, ID card matching the STNK, and BPKB when visiting the nearest Samsat office or using available online tax payment applications.
