6-a-side soccer meet in Ragunan
JAKARTA (JP): A total of 24 teams will take part in a one-day, six-a-side soccer tournament at the Ragunan stadium, South Jakarta, on Saturday, Dutch F.C. Knudde, the organizing club, announced yesterday.
The teams will be split into four groups and will play in a round-robin system to select two top teams. Group champions then will play their games in a knock-out system. During the day a total of 81 matches will be played.
The entertaining tournament, held twice a year since 1989, will match 13 expatriate and 12 Indonesian clubs.
Russia, winner of last May's tournament, will defend its title against a number of strong teams, which include Vikings 1, Vikings 2 and Crown Pacific and Bandung International. (arf)
