6,821 Clean Water Customers in East Manggarai Affected by Earthquake

As many as 6,821 clean water service customers in East Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), remain affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake on 15 August 2026. A number of disruptions occurred as a result of the earthquake, such as cracked transmission pipes, leaks, disconnections, and so on.

“Based on updated data, there are 12 affected points/locations with a total of 6,821 customers experiencing service impacts,” said Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Department of East Manggarai, Ferdinandus Mbembok, in his statement on Saturday evening (22/8/2026).

Nine of these points remain affected and are in the process of being handled. Meanwhile, three other points with 3,381 customers have been repaired.

Ferdinandus said repairs to the damaged water network are being carried out through various efforts. “Including welding and reconnecting pipes, increasing flow from the nearest sources, as well as arranging rotational service,” he explained.

The following are the nine points currently under repair:

• Wae Kewo, Satar Nawang Village: 1,180 affected customers

• Pota, Sambi Rampas District: 461 affected customers

• Buntang Rana, Rana Gapang Village: 430 affected customers

• Wukir, Sangan Kalo Village: 271 affected customers

• Wae Wulang: 321 affected customers

• Darah serving Wae Punda and Satar Kampas: 148 affected customers

• Lawir, Golo Lero Village: 399 affected customers

• Mbeliang Paka, Gurung Liwut Village: 653 affected customers

• Borong Mano, Mando Sawu Urban Village: 498 affected customers
