6,271 Village Co-operative Units Operational in Central Java, 2,769 Buildings Constructed
This was conveyed by the Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, after attending the inauguration of 1,061 KDKMP by President Prabowo Subianto, which was held in Nganjuk, East Java. Luthfi participated online from the KDKMP Kragilan, Mojosongo District, Boyolali Regency.
“There are 2,679 KDKMP buildings that have been built in Central Java. This will continue to increase. Currently, 6,271 co-operatives are operational,” said Luthfi, in a written statement, Saturday (16/5/2026).
Of the 1,061 KDKMP inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto, 531 co-operatives are located in Central Java, while 530 others are in East Java. The 531 co-operatives are the result of accelerated building construction in collaboration with the IV/Diponegoro Military Command.
The construction covers the areas of the 071/Wijayakusuma Military District with 41 locations, the 072/Pamungkas Military District with 103 locations, the 073/Makutarama Military District with 55 locations, and the 074/Warastratama Military District with 332 locations.
Meanwhile, based on data from the Village/Urban Co-operative Management Information System (Simkopdes), Wonogiri Regency has the most building construction, with 186 buildings. This is followed by Boyolali with 180 buildings and Klaten with 174 buildings.
Luthfi explained that many KDKMP in Central Java are already operational even though the building construction is not yet complete. He gave the example that there are KDKMP that only have one to three outlets, but are already operational.
Luthfi asked the provincial and district/city Co-operative Offices to collaborate with the IV/Diponegoro Military Command to accelerate the construction of KDKMP buildings that have not yet been completed.
On that occasion, Luthfi emphasized that KDKMP is a village-based co-operative. Therefore, he asked that local wisdom and village potential be the flagship products of the co-operative.
Meanwhile, Prabowo said that the operationalization of 1,061 KDKMP was a milestone. This is because the co-operative is equipped with buildings, personnel, goods, systems, logistical elements, and operational vehicles.
“Where the building is there, the warehouse is there, the system is there, the goods are there, the personnel are there, the logistical elements are there, as well as trucks, pick-ups, and three-wheeled vehicles,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo also asserted that this achievement proves that if the government has the will, strategy, determination, and strong cooperation, it can do extraordinary things. With this co-operative, it is hoped that the economic growth of the village will increase.
“Let’s move forward with confidence. This co-operative will be ours together, our shared strength in building Indonesia. Co-operatives must be strong, MSMEs must be strong,” Prabowo concluded. (akd/ega)
