6,271 Merah Putih Cooperatives Operating in Central Java
Semarang (ANTARA) - The Central Java provincial government stated that at least 6,271 Merah Putih cooperative units in the region have been operating, or 73 percent of the target.
Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, in Boyolali Regency, Saturday, said that 2,769 units of the 6,271 cooperatives have buildings or premises.
“This achievement makes Central Java the province with the highest number of buildings and operating Merah Putih village/urban cooperatives (KDKMP) nationwide,” he said.
He made this statement after the inauguration of 1,061 KDKMPs by President Prabowo Subianto, which was centered in Nganjuk, East Java, and which he attended virtually from the KDKMP Kragilan, Mojosongo District, Boyolali Regency.
Of the 1,061 KDKMPs inaugurated by Prabowo Subianto, 531 cooperatives are in Central Java, while 530 others are in East Java.
The 531 cooperatives are the result of accelerating the construction of buildings in collaboration with the Kodam IV/Diponegoro.
This includes areas of the Korem 071/Wijayakusuma with 41 points, Korem 072/Pamungkas with 103 points, Korem 073/Makutarama with 55 points, and Korem 074/Warastratama with 332 points.
Based on data from the Village/Urban Merah Putih Cooperative Management Information System (Simkopdes), Wonogiri Regency is the region with the most building construction, namely 186 buildings, followed by Boyolali with 180 buildings, and Klaten with 174 buildings.
He explained that many KDKMPs in Central Java have been operating even though the buildings have not been completed, for example, some KDKMPs only have one or two to three outlets but are already operational.
“There are 2,679 buildings of KDKMPs that have been built in Central Java. This will continue to increase. As for those that have been operating, there are 6,271 cooperatives,” he said.
Therefore, he asked the Central Java and district/city Cooperatives Offices to collaborate with the Kodam IV/Diponegoro to accelerate the construction of KDKMP buildings, which have not been completed.
On that occasion, Luthfi emphasized that KDKMP is a village-based cooperative, so he asked that local wisdom and village potential become the superior products of the cooperative itself.
Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto said that the operationalization of 1,061 KDKMPs was a milestone.
This is because the cooperative is equipped with buildings, personnel, goods, systems, logistical elements, and operational vehicles.
“Let’s move forward with confidence. This cooperative will be ours together, our shared strength in building Indonesia. Cooperatives must be strong, MSMEs must be strong,” he said.
