6,000 Free Mudik Tickets from the Ministry of Transportation for 2026 on Sea Vessels Now Available to Book — Here Are the Ticket Counters' Locations!
The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), through the Directorate General of Sea Transport (Hubla), will provide about 6,000 free ship tickets for residents intending to travel home on routes Kendari–Raha–Baubau in Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sulawesi Tenggara) in 2026. The free mudik programme is an effort by the government to ease travel costs for the public and to improve transport safety during the Lebaran period.
Sardif, Head of Operations at PT Dharma Indah Shipping, Kendari Branch, explained that the quota prepared by Kemenhub differs from the free-ticket program prepared by the Sulawesi Tenggara Provincial Government. “This is different; this quota is from the Ministry of Transportation providing free tickets for the public through Dharma Indah,” he said when contacted in Kendari on Thursday (5/3).
As information, the Sulawesi Tenggara provincial government is also preparing around 7,000 free mudik tickets, so total availability of free tickets in Sulawesi Tenggara this year is very significant for island communities.

Residents who wish to obtain free tickets from Kemenhub can register directly at the Nusantara Port Kendari Ticket Counters. The documents required will be specified at the counter. Sardif emphasised that registration is currently open, but there are strict rules: registration cannot be done by a representative, and the tickets are non-transferable and not for resale. Given the limited quota, the public is urged to register promptly at Nusantara Kendari Port before departure.
