570 killed in Israeli attacks on Lebanon

Beirut — The death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon has reached 570 people, with 1,444 other civilians injured since 2 March.

“The total number of victims from Israeli aggression since 2 March has reached 570 people, with 1,444 people wounded,” according to Lebanon’s government crisis centre on Tuesday (10 March).

In early March, rockets were fired from Lebanon towards Israel and the Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attacks.

The Israeli military subsequently responded with large-scale strikes against several densely populated areas across the country, including Beirut.

Hundreds of thousands of residents began leaving their homes to seek shelter in safer areas of Lebanon.
