564,000 Lebaran 2026 Train Tickets Sold from Gambir and Pasar Senen Stations; Remaining Seat Availability Listed
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Operations 1 Jakarta has reported positive trends in ticket sales for the 2026 Lebaran holiday transport period. As of early March 2026, 564,000 tickets had been sold for departures from 11 March to 1 April 2026.
These tickets cover long-distance train departures from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station in Central Jakarta, which serve as two principal hubs for holiday travel (mudik) in the Regional Operations 1 Jakarta area.
Franoto Wibowo, Public Relations Manager at PT KAI Regional Operations (Daop) 1 Jakarta, stated that seat availability for the pre-Lebaran period remains adequate. “As of 1 March 2026, approximately 89,000 seats are available for the mudik or pre-Lebaran period of 11-20 March 2026,” he said in Jakarta on Sunday (1 March 2026).

Based on latest data, seat availability for 11-20 March 2026 is as follows:
11 March: more than 30,000 seats
12 March: more than 19,000 seats
13 March: more than 12,000 seats
14 March: more than 7,000 seats
15 March: more than 8,000 seats
16 March: more than 2,000 seats
17 March: more than 1,000 seats
18 March: more than 500 seats
19 March: more than 1,000 seats
20 March: more than 3,000 seats
For the Lebaran period itself, 21 March still has more than 11,000 seats available, and 22 March has more than 16,000 seats. For the return journey (balik) period from 23 March to 1 April 2026, a total of 376,000 seats are available.
“The data is dynamic,” he noted.
86 Long-Distance Train Journeys Daily
To anticipate passenger surges, KAI Regional Operations 1 Jakarta is operating a total of 86 long-distance train journeys daily. This comprises 68 regular trains, 12 additional trains from Gambir Station, and 6 additional trains from Pasar Senen Station.
Popular trains departing from Gambir Station include KA 6 Argo Semeru, KA 8 Bima, KA 118 Gunungjati, KA 7006 Batavia, KA 124 Cakrabuana, and KA 32 Pandalungan.
From Pasar Senen Station, trains in high demand include KA 282 Bengawan, KA 272 Airlangga, KA 284 & 288 Serayu, KA 254 Kertajaya, KA 252 Jayakarta, and KA 258 Progo.
Popular destination cities for holiday travellers include Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Bandung, Jember, and Purwokerto.
