56 soldiers discharged

AMBON, Maluku: The Pattimura military command overseeing Maluku province discharged on Monday 56 personnel for various offenses, including legal and disciplinary violations, and desertion.

Only two personnel were attendant at Monday's official discharge, First Corp. Jacob Sinay and Second Pvt. Alexander Nambuasa. The 54 others are still at large.

After the event, Pattimura military commander Maj. Gen. Syarifuddin Sumah said the military was tracking down the others to punish them for their misdeeds. -- JP
