56,000 Vehicles Head to Jakarta via Cipali Toll Road on Monday Night
As many as 56,000 vehicles were recorded passing through towards Jakarta on the Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Road (Cipali) in West Java until Monday night or after the 2026 Eid celebrations.
Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Dept. Head of Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, stated that the number of vehicles was recorded during the monitoring period from 00:00 to 21:00 WIB.
“56,000 vehicles have crossed Cikopo towards Jakarta until 21:00 WIB,” said Ardam in his statement in Cirebon on Monday, 23 March 2026, as reported by Antara.
He mentioned that the volume of vehicles heading to Jakarta increased by around 92 percent compared to the same period on the previous day.
According to Ardam, the rise in vehicle numbers marks the beginning of the increasing return flow of holidaymakers heading back to the Jakarta area and surroundings after celebrating Eid al-Fitr in their hometowns.
Nevertheless, Ardam assured that traffic conditions on the Cipali toll road until Monday night were still monitored as busy but smooth.
He noted that the overall total traffic volume on the Cipali toll road until that night was recorded at about one percent lower than the same period on the previous day.
The Cipali toll operator, he said, urged road users to continue complying with safety rules during the Eid return journey.
He mentioned that drivers are asked not to stop on the toll road shoulder, except in emergency conditions, as it could endanger other road users.
“Road users are advised to rest at the nearest rest area or utilise rest facilities outside the toll gates if parking capacity is full,” he said.
Ardam stated that road users will still be charged the same toll fees, as the payment system is calculated based on the accumulation of distance travelled per kilometre.
In addition, he continued, drivers are also asked to ensure the condition of their vehicles and the physical state of the driver are in prime condition before continuing the journey.
“If emergency assistance or the latest traffic information is needed, road users can contact the Astra Tol Cipali call centre,” he said.
