557 DPRD Chairpersons from Across Indonesia Attend Retreat at Akmil Magelang

Some 557 DPRD chairpersons from across Indonesia are attending a retreat held at the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, Central Java, for five days from 15 to 19 April 2026. The retreat, or localised national briefing within the military environment, is an event organised by the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas). “This event will take place over the next five days as part of the programme of the National Resilience Institute or Lemhanas of the Republic of Indonesia, and for this batch, it is being held at the Military Academy,” said the Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas), TB Ace Hasan Syadzily, at Akmil Magelang on Wednesday (15/4), as quoted from detik.com. He explained that the activity is a work programme of Lemhanas of the Republic of Indonesia together with the associations of provincial DPRD, regency DPRD, and city DPRD across Indonesia. “Of course, over the next five days, there will be a process of internalisation regarding the four national consensuses, including the global geopolitical challenges that we will face,” he said. Ace stated that several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet are scheduled to fill the retreat for DPRD chairpersons across Indonesia. The ministers who have confirmed their attendance include Interior Minister Tito Karnavian, Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, and Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti. In addition, KPK Chair Setyo Budiyanto will also be present to deliver material. “Other ministries are still confirming. We hope there will be synchronisation related to national priority policies so that we as one nation, one vision, towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” he said. Ace mentioned that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has also been invited to close the retreat on Sunday (19/4). “Of course, we have also invited him, and we hope Mr President can attend at the closing ceremony (Sunday). We have invited Mr President,” he said. Meanwhile, regarding the activity, the Magelang City Government has assured full readiness to support its smooth running. The support includes readiness of infrastructure, health services, to security in the area around the event location. “The city government apparatus has instructed various related agencies to actively participate in the success of the retreat. The main focus of Magelang City Government’s support is divided into several crucial sectors to ensure the comfort of state guests and the smooth operation in the field,” said Magelang Mayor Damar Prasetyono in Magelang on Tuesday (14/4), as quoted from Antara. In addition, he said, full support is also provided in the health sector, availability of clean water, fire prevention, to the deployment of tow truck fleets from the Transportation Agency. Head of the Magelang City Health Agency Istikomah explained that they are collaborating across regions to ensure medical service standards. “We are fully supporting the health team by preparing three health posts and two Mini ICU units. This coordination involves teams from the city, regency, to Central Java Province,” she said.
