550 Blanket and Bedding Sets Distributed to NTT Earthquake Refugees
The National Board of Zakat (Baznas) RI has distributed aid in the form of 550 packages of blankets and bedding for victims affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). This step was taken to ensure the comfort of survivors while staying in evacuation centres.
Idy Muzayyad, Head of Distribution, Utilisation, and Empowerment at Baznas RI, stated that the distribution of this aid targets several evacuation points in three main regions, namely Nagekeo Regency, Ende Regency, and Manggarai Regency.
“The distribution of blankets and bedding is a responsive step by Baznas to ensure that refugees receive adequate protection and comfort at the evacuation sites,” said Idy Muzayyad in a written statement on Friday (11/9).
In detail, 355 packages were sent to Nagekeo Regency. Meanwhile, 145 packages were distributed to Nioniba Hamlet, Kebirangga Village, Maukaro District, Ende Regency, and another 50 packages were given to residents in Wae Mulu Village, Wae Rii District, Manggarai Regency.
Idy emphasised that Baznas is committed to continuing the distribution of the most needed logistics to meet the basic needs of survivors during the emergency response period. He also invited the public to assist and pray for the safety of the earthquake victims in NTT.
Based on data up to 7 September 2026, Baznas has carried out extensive humanitarian actions in NTT. It is recorded that 79,450 portions of food have been distributed through 14 public kitchen points, along with water kitchen services at 8 points and health services for 619 patients across 9 locations.
In addition to food and health logistics, Baznas has also built emergency infrastructure, including 4 mosques, 1 school, 5 temporary housing units, and 1 emergency bridge. Other aid, including 1,083 Family Logistics Packages (PLK), 553 hygiene kits, 51 tarpaulins, and psychosocial support for 135 individuals, has also been realised.
To support communication in the disaster area, Baznas also provided one internet service unit and free charging facilities for refugees.
As of Thursday (10/9), the accumulated death toll was recorded at 136 people, with 88 of them dying indirectly. According to data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), 135 people were reported dead due to the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in NTT.
For houses in the light damage category, support of Rp15 million is provided, while for moderately damaged houses, the support is Rp30 million.
Post-earthquake recovery following the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), is beginning to move from the emergency response phase towards the reconstruction of residential homes.
It was also reported that the government has delivered 2,165 tons of aid to the earthquake victims in NTT.
Aid weighing 13 tons, consisting of food and clothing, was directed to earthquake victims in several areas of Flores.
