SLEMAN - The Sleman Regency Government continues to prepare road infrastructure ahead of the 2026 Eid exodus traffic. According to the latest data from the Sleman Public Works, Housing, and Settlement Area Office (DPUPKP), 58 priority road sections with a total length of around 180.84 kilometres have been addressed, with progress now reaching 83 per cent.

The Head of the Road Infrastructure Division of DPUPKP Sleman, Fauzan Ma’aruf, stated that road repair efforts are the top priority ahead of Ramadan to ensure that public mobility remains safe and smooth. “Of the priority road sections, the majority have already been addressed. We continue to strive to complete the rest so that the public can pass through more safely,” he said recently.

The road repairs include addressing cracks, patching potholes, and maintaining road surfaces to keep them safe for vehicles. These 58 road sections were selected due to their potential as main or alternative routes in case of traffic congestion.

Overall, the total length of regency roads in Sleman reaches 733.67 kilometres, spread across 371 road sections. Based on the 2025 road condition survey, around 28.49 per cent of roads are in good condition, 39.51 per cent moderate, 30.23 per cent lightly damaged, and 1.77 per cent severely damaged.

“In principle, we strive to ensure that the exodus routes are in the best possible condition, even aiming for zero potholes, so they are safe and comfortable for the public passing through,” he said.

In addition, the Sleman Regency Government has prepared standby teams ready to act at any time to handle sudden road damages during the exodus season. “If the public finds road damage that needs immediate attention, please report it so we can follow up directly,” Fauzan stated.

The Sleman Regency Government hopes that with these repairs, the regency routes can support the smooth flow of Eid exodus traffic as well as access to tourist areas such as Prambanan and Kaliurang. “With the various repair efforts carried out, they can support the smooth Eid exodus traffic as well as access to tourist areas,” he added.
