This indicates that vehicle mobility of returnees during the Lebaran return flow is still ongoing. Bekasi (ANTARA) - PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek recorded 53,976 vehicles heading to Jakarta via the Mohammed Bin Zayed Elevated Road (MBZ) on Thursday (26/3), or two days before the predicted peak return flow on Saturday (28/3). “This indicates that vehicle mobility of returnees during the Lebaran return flow is still ongoing,” said GM of Operations and Maintenance of PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek, Desti Anggraeni, in Bekasi, West Java, on Friday. She stated that the increase in vehicle volume heading to Jakarta via the MBZ Elevated Road during this period reached 147.26% compared to normal daily traffic of 21,830 vehicles. A surge in the number of vehicles also occurred in the opposite direction on the same day, namely 28,437 vehicles, or an increase of 20.56% compared to normal traffic of 23,588 vehicles. Desti mentioned that the vehicle volume in both directions shows that traffic flow on the MBZ Elevated Road is still dominated by vehicles heading to Jakarta, in line with the continuation of the return flow movement during the 1447 Hijriah Idul Fitri period. She also noted that compared to the traffic volume on the previous day, vehicles heading to Jakarta experienced an increase from 53,189 to 53,976 vehicles, or up 1.48%, indicating that the return flow is still ongoing. Meanwhile, the volume of vehicles leaving Jakarta was recorded to have decreased from 29,502 to 28,437 vehicles, or down 3.61%, also indicating a reduction in outbound vehicle movement from Jakarta as traffic flow shifts towards returning to Jakarta. The company continues to urge road users passing through the MBZ Elevated Road to always prioritise safety by ensuring the condition of the driver and vehicle is in prime condition, as well as maintaining sufficient electricity or fuel. Road users are also asked to anticipate potential weather changes, especially rain conditions that can affect visibility and road surface conditions, so that the journey can proceed safely and comfortably until reaching the destination. The latest traffic information and requests for toll road traffic services can be accessed through the Jasa Marga Group’s 24-hour call centre at number 133, Twitter @PTJASAMARGA, and the Travoy 4.5 application for iOS and Android users.
