52,500 livestock for Idul Adha

JAKARTA (JP): The city administration has prepared 50,000
goats and 2,500 cows to secure an adequate supply of sacrificial
livestock for the Islamic Day of Sacrifice (Idul Adha), which
falls on May 10.

Soemitro, head of the City Livestock Office, said over the
weekend that the provision of livestock was being conducted by
his staff in cooperation with livestock traders and a number of
livestock producing centers in Central Java, West Java and
Yogyakarta.

He said that, in order to keep the livestock healthy, his
office had distributed anti-stress medicine to livestock traders.

"The medicine is provided free of charge," Soemitro added.
