52 Corruption Suspects Attend Eid al-Adha Prayers at KPK's Al-Ikhlas Mosque
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has facilitated Eid al-Adha prayers for 52 corruption detainees on Wednesday, 27 May. “In commemoration of Eid al-Adha 1447 H, the KPK has facilitated Eid prayers for Muslim detainees at the Al-Ikhlas Mosque in the KPK’s Merah Putih Building,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Tuesday, 26 May. Budi stated that the facility is a demonstration of fulfilling the basic rights of detainees, including the ability to practice their religion according to their beliefs. Currently, out of a total of 62 detainees at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building and C1 Branch Prison, 52 are Muslim and will participate in the prayers. The remaining detainees consist of five Christians, two Catholics, two Buddhists, and one Hindu. The KPK, Budi added, views the provision of religious rights as part of respecting human rights and supporting detainees during legal proceedings. Therefore, religious worship activities are routinely facilitated while adhering to the prison’s regulations. “Family and relative visits for detainees are scheduled for Wednesday, 27 May 2026, from 10:00 to 13:00 WIB,” Budi said.
