52,971 Central Jakarta Residents Have Activated Digital Population Identity

The Central Jakarta Sub-Department of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) has recorded that 5_2,971 residents across eight sub-districts in its area have completed the recording and activation of their Digital Population Identity (IKD) during the period from January to 10 September 2026.

“Based on data from 1 January to 10 September 2026, it is recorded that 52,971 residents in eight sub-districts have been facilitated with IKD activation,” said Agus Suryono, Head of the Population Registration Service Section of the Central Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-Department, in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Agus stated that the IKD serves as digital proof of identity and valid document ownership, providing authentication for citizens when accessing digital-based public services.

Registration and activation services for the IKD in Central Jakarta are conducted in person to prevent data forgery and to ensure the identity verification process for residents.

“IKD registration is done through direct face-to-face interaction to avoid data falsification; it is not conducted online,” he added.

To expand service access, the Central Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-Department has also implemented a proactive ‘jemput bola’ (outreach) system, attending various community activities in sub-districts, neighbourhoods (RT/RW), and schools.

These services are also frequently organised alongside the distribution of social assistance (bansos) and other social protection programmes at sub-district offices.

Agus reminded residents to access IKD services through integrated service counters or official outreach services organised by Dukcapil officers.

“Our officers attend wearing complete attributes, including official assignment letters and identification, for the sake of security and convenience,” he said.
