512 Residents in Nanggung, Bogor Affected by Drought, Require Clean Water
Hundreds of residents in Parakan Muncang village, Nanggung district, Bogor, West Java, have been affected by drought. The cause is declining rainfall intensity in the region.
M Adam Hamdani, Head of Emergency and Logistics at the Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), stated that the residents’ infiltration well water sources have dried up. As a result, he said, residents are struggling to meet their clean water needs.
“Due to the declining rainfall intensity in the area, the infiltration well water sources have dried up, causing residents difficulty in fulfilling their clean water needs,” Adam said on Wednesday (24/6/2026).
He said a total of 512 people have been affected by the drought. These hundreds of residents are spread across two hamlets in Parakan Muncang village.
“The estimated victims from the rapid assessment are 33 families comprising 237 people in Kampung Pasir Ahad and 57 families comprising 275 people in Kampung Pasir Saga,” he detailed.
Residents subsequently reported the situation to BPBD officials to request clean water assistance. A total of 5,000 litres of clean water aid was provided for initial handling.
“The current situation is that clean water needs have been temporarily distributed to the community,” he concluded.
