A total of 51 artisans affiliated with the West Jakarta Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda) are participating in a promotion and marketing event for superior products at a mall in the Grogol Petamburan area. The ‘Dekranasda Goes to Mall 2026’ activity is being held over two weeks, from 4 to 16 August 2026. Lisniawati Uus Kuswanto, Deputy Daily Chair of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Dekranasda, stated that the event serves as a momentum for artisans and MSME players to enhance competitiveness and expand market access. ‘Every time I attend a Dekranasda event, I always see proud developments. Not only are the products increasingly diverse, but the quality, design, packaging, and the artisans’ ability to build brands and utilise digital marketing are also improving,’ Lisniawati said in Jakarta on Tuesday. She noted that Dekranasda plays a strategic role as a promotional platform while strengthening the business ecosystem for artisans to produce innovative, competitive, and sustainable products. She assessed that each year there must be improvements in quality, innovation, service, technology utilisation, and the ability to read market needs so that Jakarta’s craft products can compete in a wider market. Meanwhile, West Jakarta Mayor Iin Mutmainnah said the government will continue to support the development of MSMEs as a driver of the regional economy. Every product exhibited is the result of a long process undertaken by artisans with dedication, creativity, and hard work. ‘If we do not love and use local products, who else will? Let us together support the work of artisans so they can further develop and compete at a global level,’ she said. She hopes the ‘Dekranasda Goes To Mall’ event can increase public affection for domestic products while expanding the marketing of West Jakarta artisans’ creations. The event, themed ‘Local Creations, Global Power: Sustainable Craft Creation, Artisans Proud of Culture,’ features a variety of superior products from West Jakarta artisans, ranging from fashion, batik, and craft to accessories and other creative products. ‘This event runs from 4 to 16 August and is part of our efforts to support superior products made by local artisans,’ said Eka Ali Murtadho, Chair of the West Jakarta City Administration Dekranasda. He explained that Dekranasda Goes to Mall is being attended by 51 Dekranasda artisans divided into two sessions. The first session involves 25 artisans in the first week, and the second session involves 26 artisans in the second week. ‘The artisans are displaying high-quality creative products. The products not only reflect the creativity and skills of the artisans but also help preserve the culture and local wisdom that form our identity,’ he clarified. Eka added that the event also features various interesting activities, including a fashion show involving eight pairs of representatives from sub-districts. ‘They are showcasing fabrics and products made from local materials. Additionally, there is a gallery exhibiting the best artworks and a special stand offering accessories and handicrafts,’ he said.
