In recent years, awareness among young people about financial management has continued to rise. Investment is no longer seen as complicated but as an essential part of future planning. With easy access through digital platforms, young people are now more interested in trying various investment options that suit their needs.

This survey was conducted from 1 to 30 March 2026 using the computer-assisted self-interviewing (CASI) method. A total of 800 respondents aged 17-40 from across Indonesia participated in the survey. Sampling was carried out using stratified random sampling based on age, gender, and region, with a margin of error of ±5% and a confidence level of 95%.

In terms of asset preferences, jewellery gold is the most popular investment choice with a percentage of 33.6%. The high interest in jewellery gold indicates that ease of access and utility value remain primary considerations for young people in selecting investment instruments. Additionally, gold is known as a relatively stable asset that is easy to liquidate, making it considered safe for beginner investors.

In the next position, shares and digital mutual funds recorded an interest of 23.10%. The presence of increasingly accessible digital platforms has also driven increased participation by young people in capital market investments. These instruments are seen to offer higher return potential, although accompanied by greater risks.

Interestingly, gold-based investments continue to dominate in various forms. Besides jewellery gold, physical gold was chosen by 18.4% of respondents, while digital gold accounted for 12.6%. This shows that trust in gold as a hedging instrument remains very strong among the younger generation.

Meanwhile, cryptocurrency assets are starting to attract attention with a percentage of 11.6%, indicating interest in higher-risk instruments. In contrast, investments in land and property only reached 0.7%, making it the lowest choice.
