PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) recorded 51,600 passengers departing from Jakarta today, with ticket sales continuing to be processed dynamically.

“Ticket sales are still ongoing since the selling process is continuing. Today we have recorded 51,600 tickets sold and passengers who will depart,” said Franoto Wibowo, Public Relations Manager of PT Kereta Api Indonesia Daop 1 Jakarta, at Pasar Senen Station in Central Jakarta on Monday (16 March 2026).

Of the 51,600 passengers recorded in Jakarta, PT KAI reported that more than 23,000 passengers will depart from Pasar Senen Station. These passengers are travelling to various cities on the island of Java.

“For Pasar Senen today, approximately 23,286 passengers will depart to various cities across Java,” Franoto said.

PT KAI predicts that departures from Jakarta will continue to remain above 50,000 passengers per day. This volume is expected to persist until 20 March.

“From 14 March through 20 March, we estimate that the number of passengers departing across all of Daop 1 will be above 50,000,” he stated.

Franoto noted that railway usage during this year’s Lebaran homecoming season has increased compared to last year, with a rise of approximately 2 per cent.

“There has been an increase. During the period of 11 March to 15 March compared to the same period in 2025, there was an increase of around 2 per cent,” he said.

Franoto confirmed that Lebaran homecoming tickets remain available in sufficient quantities. He advised rail passengers to arrive 100 minutes before departure.

“Our recommendation is that tickets are still available in adequate numbers, so please book through the Access application or official channels. Also, please pay attention to your baggage to ensure nothing is left behind or mixed up with other passengers’ belongings. We have also advised passengers to arrive 100 minutes before the train’s departure time so they can board the platform on time,” he added.
