5,000 books from USIS for UI

JAKARTA (JP): The American Studies Center at the University of Indonesia will receive 5,000 books from the U.S. Embassy through the United States Information Services (USIS).

The books plus equipment and related materials, worth US$175,000, will be officially handed over on Monday.

The donation includes The New York Times on microfilm, periodicals, shelving and equipment transferred from the USIS Zorinsky Library.

The books and periodicals cover a wide range of subjects including history, political science, literature, business management and administration, and communications.

Rector of University of Indonesia M.K. Tadjudin and the director of USIS in Indonesia, Steven Monblatt, are scheduled to sign the formal grant documents on Monday. (sur)
