500 Part-Time PPPK Teachers in Mataram to Be Appointed Without Test
Good news for 500 part-time government contract teachers (PPPK) in Mataram City. They will be appointed as full-time PPPK without undergoing any test or selection.
This certainty was conveyed by the Head of the Mataram City Education Agency, Yusuf. The appointment will be carried out once the implementation guidelines and technical instructions from the central government are issued.
“All part-time teachers will be appointed. They will be made full-time,” said Yusuf when confirmed on Monday (24/8/2026).
“No test is needed,” he explained.
Yusuf said the number of part-time PPPK teachers in Mataram is around 500 people. Meanwhile, the number of full-time PPPK teachers currently stands at around 2,000 people.
“We have around 500 part-time PPPK teachers in Mataram. Meanwhile, there are around 2,000 full-time teachers,” he said.
According to Yusuf, PPPK teachers also have the opportunity to take the civil servant (CPNS) selection test in 2027. However, teachers over the age of 35 will be directly appointed as full-time PPPK without a test.
“Those over 35 years old will be made full-time PPPK. No test is needed, directly full-time. Now we are waiting for the central government’s decision,” he explained.
Previously, the central government confirmed that part-time PPPK teachers would be appointed as full-time PPPK in 2027. The policy applies to teachers under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) as well as the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag).
The Regional Secretary of Mataram City, Lalu Alwan Basri, had earlier asked part-time PPPK teachers to be patient while waiting for official regulations from the central government.
“We are waiting for the written rules. We are waiting for the best,” said Alwan.
“Operationally, we will wait for the circular first, to see what it says. It was only just announced yesterday. Be patient,” he said.
“What the requirements are, what the needs are, have not yet been announced,” he continued.
Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Atip Latipulhayat said there are four key decisions regarding the arrangement of PPPK teacher status. One of them is that part-time PPPK teachers will be appointed as full-time PPPK in 2027.
Furthermore, full-time PPPK teachers will have the opportunity to become civil servants (PNS) gradually through tests starting in 2027. Teacher status will also be transferred to central government civil servants (ASN), and teacher recruitment will be opened with formations this year and gradual selection starting in 2027.
“The government together with the House of Representatives continues to strive to arrange the employment status of PPPK teachers to provide more certainty and support the sustainability of education services,” said Atip, as quoted by detikEdu on Wednesday (19/8).
Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel at Kemendikdasmen, Nunuk Suryani, said the transfer of part-time PPPK teacher status to full-time will begin in January 2027.
“Hopefully this decision can boost teachers’ enthusiasm to improve their competence and provide quality education for all,” said Nunuk.
