5 Smartphones with iPhone 17 Air-like Design, but at More Affordable Prices
Thin smartphone design has become a major trend in the smartphone industry. Multiple vendors are launching devices that emphasise slim bodies and lightweight builds.
This trend has garnered even greater attention following Apple’s release of the iPhone Air, which features the company’s thinnest smartphone design to date.
However, like other flagship iPhone models, the iPhone 17 Air carries a relatively high price tag, exceeding 20 million rupiah.
Nevertheless, several Android smartphones also offer thin profiles with rear appearances similar to the iPhone 17 Air, yet are sold at more affordable prices.
Based on KompasTekno’s observations, several vendors including Honor, Tecno, Nubia, and Realme have entered this market segment. Here is a detailed breakdown.
Honor opened 2026 by releasing the Magic8 Pro Air, a device dubbed the “sibling” of the iPhone 17 Air. It is called a “sibling” because the device features a thin body and has a horizontal rear camera module, similar to the iPhone Air.
The smartphone has a thickness of 6.1 millimetres and weighs 155 grammes. For comparison, the iPhone Air has a thickness of 5.6 millimetres and weighs 165 grammes. The Honor Magic8 Pro Air was released in January 2026 in China.
The Honor Magic8 Pro Air is marketed starting from 4,999 yuan, or approximately 12.1 million rupiah. This price is substantially cheaper than the iPhone Air, which is priced from 21 million rupiah.
Regarding pricing, the Tecno Pova Slim is sold at 19,999 rupees, or approximately 3.6 million rupiah. This price is considerably lower than the iPhone Air, which is marketed starting from 21 million rupiah.
The Nubia Air is one of Nubia’s smartphones with a design resembling the iPhone Air. The smartphone features a slim body with a thickness of only 6.7 millimetres. Its thinnest point is 5.9 millimetres, located at the midframe section.
On the rear, the Nubia Air features a pill-shaped horizontal camera module on the back. This design makes its appearance somewhat similar to the iPhone Air.
