5 Key Points on Dude Herlino and Alyssa Soebandono as Witnesses in the PT DSI Case
The celebrity couple Dude Herlino and Alyssa Soebandono were examined in connection with allegations of fraud and embezzlement amounting to Rp 2.4 trillion by PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI). Several details have emerged regarding this examination.
As is known, the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) has designated four individuals as suspects in this case. They are:
The President Director of PT DSI, Taufiq Aljufri;
Former Director of PT DSI, Mery Yuniarni;
Commissioner of PT DSI, Arie Rizal Lesmana;
Former Director of PT DSI from 2018-2024 and Founder of PT DSI, AS.
The Director of the Directorate of Economic and Special Crimes (Tipideksus) at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Ade Safri Simanjuntak, explained that the fraud was perpetrated by PT DSI through the creation of fictitious projects. These fictitious projects were fabricated by PT DSI using data from existing investment recipients (borrowers), which were misappropriated to appear as if they involved new projects.
At least 15,000 lenders became victims in the alleged criminal act, with total losses reaching Rp 2.4 trillion over the period from 2018 to 2025.
Bareskrim Polri has blocked 63 accounts belonging to PT DSI and its affiliates. Investigators have also seized Rp 4 billion from a total of 41 bank accounts, along with other related evidence.
Due to their actions, the three suspects are charged under Article 488 and/or Article 486 and/or Article 492 of the Criminal Code (KUHP), and/or Article 45A Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 28 Paragraph (1) of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE), and/or Article 299 of the Law on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector, and Article 607 Paragraph (1) letters a, b, and c of the KUHP.
Observations at the location on Thursday (2/4/2026) showed that Dude and Alyssa arrived around 10:05 WIB. They were to be examined in their capacity as witnesses.
Dude was seen wearing a long-sleeved green shirt. Meanwhile, Alyssa wore a black dress.
- Previously Brand Ambassadors
Dude Herlino and Alyssa Soebandono had previously served as brand ambassadors for the fintech company. They stated they were ready to provide statements to the investigators.
“The invitation to give a statement regarding DSI from Bareskrim is the first time. Perhaps Bareskrim needs information from us, hopefully it will be useful,” Dude told reporters.
Dude admitted that he had indeed been a brand ambassador for Dana Syariah Indonesia for three years from 2022 to 2025. He assured that he is no longer collaborating with PT DSI.
“That’s correct, it’s over (no longer a BA),” he said.
- Grilled with 53 Questions
Both were examined as witnesses. At least 53 questions were posed.
“We were examined starting from 11:00 WIB. For Mr Dude, there were 32 questions, and then for his wife (Alyssa), there were 21 questions,” said their legal representative, Muhammad Al Ayubi Harahap.
Ayubi stated that the presence of his clients was a form of support for the ongoing law enforcement process. He emphasised that their role was limited to that of external parties working professionally.
“The questions were about their job descriptions at PT DSI as brand ambassadors. What their work entailed, well, that was already explained: professional work, employment relationship, and the work was also proportionate,” Ayubi revealed.
- Only Served as Brand Ambassadors
Meanwhile, Dude Herlino conveyed that he and his wife were present in their capacity as witnesses. They had provided statements regarding their roles as brand ambassadors.
“So the investigators wanted to know in more depth what the duties as brand ambassadors entailed. Indeed, we have no connection to internal management or anything like that; it was purely professional as brand ambassadors,” Dude explained.
He assured that the collaboration with PT DSI was conducted through annual contracts that were periodically renewed. All employment relationships, he continued, had been carried out in accordance with the agreements set out in the contracts.
During the examination, investigators also inquired about the value of the collaboration between Dude and Alyssa with PT DSI. However, Dude described the amount as trade secret information that was only provided to the investigators.
“The collaboration amount, we have already conveyed that to Bareskrim,” he confirmed.
Regarding the end of the contract, Dude revealed that the collaboration with PT DSI had indeed been agreed to end in August 2025. Therefore, he now has no further relationship with PT DSI.
- Support the Legal Process
Furthermore, he emphasised that from the outset, they had prioritised due diligence before entering into the collaboration. This included verifying the company’s legality.
“So before signing the contract, we had actually checked everything from the Financial Services Authority (OJK): there was a licence, supervision, a Sharia Supervisory Board, and so on,” Dude stated.
“But it turns out this happened anyway. So now we are in a position to support law enforcement,” he added.
Nevertheless, Dude emphasised his position as supporting the legal process by providing statements as witnesses.
“If we continue to provide support, hopefully this case can be resolved and the lenders’ funds can be fully returned to those entitled,” Dude concluded.
- Police Delve into Dude and Alyssa’s Roles
The Directorate of Economic and Special Crimes (Dittipideksus) at Bareskrim Polri has examined the celebrity couple Dude Herlino and Alyssa Soebandono. They were examined because they had briefly served as brand ambassadors for the fintech company.
“We want to obtain statements regarding the roles of the two witnesses as brand ambassadors at PT DSI,” said the head of the investigation team for the PT DSI case, Brigadier General Susatyo Purnomo Condro.
Susatyo stated that his side was delving into whether PT DSI’s management provided certain information or narratives to the brand ambassadors for dissemination to the public. Susatyo noted that the pair had collaborated with PT DSI for approximately three years.
“Of course, when they chose DSI as a sharia investment platform, we want to delve into whether DSI also provided explanations to these two witnesses to enable good promotion for DSI,” Susatyo said.
In addition, investigators examined contractual aspects, including the content of the collaboration agreement, the amount of fees, and the witnesses’ understanding of the company’s business plan.
