5 Key Features of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Cool Gaming Performance & Fast Charging
Samsung officially introduced the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra as the top-tier model in the Samsung S26 Series on February 26, 2026. This device brings major improvements in thermal management, system efficiency, and faster charging speeds.
During the launch event titled ‘The Next Galaxy First Hands On’ in Jakarta (February 26), MX Product Marketing Senior Manager at Samsung, Ilham Indrawan, emphasized that the improvements in the Galaxy S26 Ultra are not just on paper but focus on real-world, everyday usability.
One of the main highlights for Samsung this year is revolutionary thermal management. In a demonstration test, the device was tested playing a heavy game for two consecutive hours.
“We tested it by playing a game for two hours non-stop. The temperature was only 37°C. The average smartphone can reach 41-42°C in the same scenario. So this is a significant improvement in thermal management in the Samsung S26 Series,” said Ilham Indrawan.
This latest cooling system automatically balances performance and temperature. If the temperature approaches a certain point, the frame rate will be adjusted to remain stable without making the device feel hot in the hand.
“The average user is still around 40 degrees. Above 45 degrees is already uncomfortable,” he explained.
Samsung has finally made significant improvements in the charging sector. The Galaxy S26 Ultra now supports fast charging technology up to 60W.
“The Galaxy S26 Ultra now supports fast charging up to 60W. From 0 to 75% only takes about 30 minutes,” added Ilham. This speed is a crucial solution for users with high mobility so that the battery is sufficient for all-day use in a short time.
Performance Note: This power increase is Samsung’s response to the need for time efficiency for professionals and power users.
Although the battery capacity remains at 5,000 mAh, Samsung claims that its durability is much better than the previous generation. Samsung S26’s focus has now shifted to overall ecosystem efficiency.
“Our focus is not just on battery capacity, but on overall ecosystem efficiency. The chipset is more power-efficient, and One UI 8.5 is also optimized for power consumption. So in daily use, it remains stable without having to increase capacity,” said Ilham.
Galaxy AI remains the backbone of Samsung’s smart features, especially in the integration of the notification system and keyboard. In response to concerns about data security, Samsung has reaffirmed its commitment to user privacy.
“What is read by the feature is only the notifications that appear on the screen, not accessing the contents of the application directly such as WhatsApp or Gmail. If it does not appear in the notification, then the system cannot read it.” This reaffirmation is Samsung’s commitment to protecting user personal data.
Samsung S26 implements a clearer chipset segmentation strategy in 2026. The Galaxy S26 Ultra exclusively uses the latest Snapdragon chipset.
“Ultra users are power users who need the fastest performance. That’s why we use Snapdragon for Ultra. While the base and Plus variants with Exynos are more focused on power efficiency and daily performance balance,” concluded Ilham.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra brings measurable improvements in performance, charging, and system efficiency, without changing the main foundations such as battery capacity. The approach is now more on overall optimization to provide a more stable and comfortable user experience. (Z-10)
