5 Key Facts Regarding the Pullman Hotel Parking Fire
The Pullman Hotel in the West Jakarta area was struck by a fire this morning. The flames were large enough to attract the attention of local residents.
“The object on fire is the Pullman Hotel,” said Achmad Saiful Kahfi, Head of Operations for the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Department, on Saturday (1/8/2026).
The fire was reported to firefighters at 07:59 WIB. The hotel is located on Jalan Letjen S Parman, Tanjung Duren Selatan, Grogol Petamburam, West Jakarta.
A total of 14 fire engines and 70 personnel were deployed to the location. The extinguishing operation commenced at 08:05 WIB. Social media footage showed flames visible on the exterior of the building, producing thick black smoke.
- Suspected Electrical Short Circuit
The fire at the Pullman Hotel was extinguished by firefighters approximately 10 minutes after initial handling. The fire is suspected to have been triggered by electrical issues.
“The suspected cause is an electrical phenomenon on the 2nd floor,” stated the Command Centre of the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Department on Saturday (1/8/2026). The extinguishing operation was declared complete at 09:15 WIB. The fire affected both the interior and exterior parts of the Pullman Hotel building.
- Chronology of the Fire
When the fire was discovered, security personnel attempted to extinguish it using portable fire extinguishers (APAR). However, as the flames were large and could not be contained, they reported the incident to the fire department.
“Chronology: at 07:54 WIB, a security guard checking the emergency stairs on the P5 floor smelled smoke. Upon inspection, fire was found on the P4 floor. They attempted to extinguish it using APAR, but were unsuccessful and subsequently contacted the local office,” he explained.
- Forensic Investigation Underway
Police will deploy a Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) team to investigate the Pullman Hotel fire. The forensic team has been mobilised to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
“For the time being, the exact cause of the fire is unknown. The forensic team will be deployed to the site,” said the Chief of Grogol Petamburan Police, AKP Reza Aditya.
To date, the Indonesia Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) team from the West Jakarta Metro Police has arrived at the scene for an initial inspection.
- No Casualties Reported
Pullman Jakarta Central Park management confirmed that the fire did not occur within the main hotel area. Emergency response procedures were immediately activated.
“We wish to clarify that the fire did not occur within the hotel area. However, given the proximity of the incident and the presence of smoke, we immediately activated emergency response procedures, including evacuation as a precaution, in accordance with established safety protocols,” the Pullman Jakarta Central Park management stated.
Hotel staff and authorities worked together to ensure the safety of all guests and employees. The hotel confirmed there were no casualties in the incident.
“We are pleased to report that there were no reports of injuries and no major damage to the property resulting from this incident,” they added.

The hotel has confirmed that the situation is now under control and operations have returned to normal.
“The situation is fully under control, and operations have returned to normal.”
Management emphasised that the safety and security of guests and employees remain the top priority and that they will continue to evaluate and improve safety standards.

We continue to review and enhance our safety measures to ensure a safe and secure environment at all times,” they stated, adding that they appreciate the cooperation and patience of all guests and stakeholders during the situation.
