The Chairman of the DPD II Partai Golkar for Southeast Maluku, Angrapinus Rumatora alias Nus Kei, was killed by stabbing at Karel Sadsuitubun Ibra Airport in Southeast Maluku, Maluku. It was later revealed that Nus Kei was stabbed by two individuals.

The two perpetrators immediately fled the scene after stabbing the victim on Sunday (19/4) around 11:25 WIT. Police swiftly arrested the two suspects, HR (28) and FU (36), at their hiding place in the Southeast Maluku region two hours after the incident.

At the time, Nus Kei had just landed after an air journey from Jakarta. Nus Kei was evacuated to Karel Sadsuitubun Hospital around 12:00 WIT and received medical treatment before being declared dead.

Here are several facts:

  1. Perpetrators Claim Revenge

Police uncovered the motive behind HR and FU stabbing Nus Kei to death. The two perpetrators admitted to holding a grudge against the victim.

“The motive is revenge, based on our preliminary investigation,” said the Chief of Police of Southeast Maluku, Rian Sehendi, as reported by detikSulsel on Sunday (19/4/2026).

Rian did not provide further details regarding the grudge the two perpetrators held against the victim. However, he stated that the grudge originated when the perpetrators and the victim were both in Jakarta.

“The previous issue between the perpetrators and the victim was in Jakarta,” he said.

“Alhamdulillah, the perpetrators were successfully arrested less than two hours after the incident. Thanks to the cooperation of the family, the two perpetrators were captured,” he added.

  1. Perpetrators Accuse Nus Kei of Killing Their Brother

To the police, the two perpetrators accused Nus Kei of being the mastermind behind the murder of their brother in Bekasi. The incident occurred in 2020 in Kalimalang, Bekasi.

“The two perpetrators held a grudge because the victim Nus Kei was the mastermind behind the murder of their brother named Fenansius Wadanubun alias Dani Holat,” said the Head of Public Relations of Maluku Regional Police, Commissioner Rositah Umasugi, to reporters on Monday (20/4/2026).

“The incident occurred in 2020 in Jakarta next to Kalimalang Apartment, Bekasi,” she added.

  1. Two Perpetrators Transferred to Ambon

Rositah stated that the two perpetrators were transferred to the Maluku Regional Police Headquarters in Ambon City. The perpetrators were moved from Southeast Maluku for security reasons.

“The two stabbing perpetrators who killed Nus Kei have been transferred to Ambon for further examination,” said Rositah.

Rositah said the two perpetrators were flown using a commercial aeroplane from Malra. They have arrived in Ambon and are currently being examined.

“After Ambon, they were taken to the Maluku Regional Police Headquarters for further examination,” she explained.

Separately, the Head of Public Relations of Southeast Maluku Police, Ipda Wandi Puasa, said the transfer of the perpetrators was to anticipate unwanted incidents. The two are being handled further by the Maluku Regional Police.

“Regarding the two perpetrators who have been taken to Ambon for security,” Wandi revealed.

  1. Suspected Premeditated Murder

Police examined six people to delve deeper into the murder case against Nus Kei. Police are investigating suspicions of premeditated murder in Nus Kei’s death.

“Because of that, we are still developing (regarding suspicions of premeditated murder). But that is the article demanded (premeditated murder) applied by investigators in handling the case,” explained Rositah.

“So the six witnesses include the two perpetrators, the reporting witness, and witnesses at the crime scene,” she detailed.

Rositah added that after examination, the two perpetrators will be detained at the Maluku Regional Police Detention Centre. She said the two perpetrators face charges of premeditated murder.

“The criminal act against life or premeditated murder and or criminal act against the body or joint assault causing death as meant in Article 459 jo 20 letter c or Article 458 paragraph (1) jo 20 letter c or 262 paragraph 4 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code,” she explained.

“The penalty for the two suspected perpetrators is the death penalty, life imprisonment, or a maximum of 20 years in prison,” she added.
