Pasar Senen Station recorded the highest number of long-distance train passenger movements between January and May 2026. Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, stated that the high customer mobility at Pasar Senen Station highlights its vital role as an intercity travel node from Jakarta to various regions across Java. During that period, Pasar Senen Station served 3,155,872 long-distance passenger movements, comprising 1,670,418 boarding passengers and 1,485,417 alighting passengers. On a monthly basis, long-distance passenger movements at Pasar Senen Station were recorded at 622,763 in January, 492,511 in February, 783,962 in March, 613,383 in April, and 643,226 in May 2026. These figures placed Pasar Senen above other major stations during the same period, including Gambir with 2,603,087 passengers, Yogyakarta with 2,574,177 passengers, Semarang Tawang with 1,736,897 passengers, and Surabaya Gubeng with 1,547,309 passengers. Anne explained that Pasar Senen has a strong character as it serves a wide range of travellers, including families, workers, students, tourists, small business operators, and people who rely on trains as their primary mode of transport to various cities. ‘For many passengers, Pasar Senen is the starting point of a journey that is close, practical, and well-connected,’ she said. KAI ensures that passenger flow at the station is orderly, from arrival in the station area, boarding procedures, and travel information, to train departures. In addition to serving long-distance trains, Pasar Senen Station also serves the Cikarang/Bekasi Commuter Line. The travel patterns passing through Pasar Senen include Bekasi/Cikarang–Pasar Senen–Kampung Bandan and Kampung Bandan–Pasar Senen–Bekasi/Cikarang. Connectivity in the Pasar Senen area is also supported by Transjakarta access at the Senen bus stop. Available services include BRT 2 Pulo Gadung–Monas, route 2A Pulo Gadung–Rawa Buaya, route 7F Kampung Rambutan–Juanda via Cempaka Putih, BRT 14 Jakarta International Stadium–Senen, and route 14B Tanjung Priok–Senen via JIS.
