The peak homecoming flow occurred two days before Eid al-Fitr, precisely on 19 March 2026. Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - The management of Radin Inten II Airport in Lampung recorded 5,323 passengers passing through the airport during the peak of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming on Thursday (19/3). “Over the week of the 2026/1447 Hijriah Integrated Lebaran Transport Post implementation, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia at Bandara Internasional Radin Inten II noted a significant increase in both passenger and aircraft movements,” stated General Manager of Bandara Internasional Radin Inten II, Kiki Eprina Arieanti, based on her statement in Bandarlampung on Friday. She said that during the peak homecoming period, Bandara Internasional Radin Inten II served 5,323 passengers, an increase of one per cent compared to the same period in 2025, which saw 5,288 passenger movements. “The peak homecoming occurred two days before Eid al-Fitr, precisely on 19 March 2026, and in one day managed to serve 5,323 passengers,” she said. She continued that alongside the increase in passengers during the peak homecoming, there were also 35 aircraft movements. The 35 aircraft movements represented a 12 per cent decrease compared to the same period the previous year, when Bandara Internasional Radin Inten II handled 41 aircraft movements. “From the total of 35 flights during that peak homecoming, there were 12 additional flights serving routes to Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang and Batam to accommodate the passenger surge during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period,” she stated. She explained that the traffic achievements during the 2026 Integrated Lebaran Transport Post, which experienced an increase, reflect the high mobility of the community and the effectiveness of the airport’s operational readiness. “The increase in passenger numbers accompanied by additional aircraft movements, including extra flights,” she said. She mentioned that they had anticipated this through readiness of infrastructure, facilities, and airport personnel. “Our focus is to ensure smooth operations, serve users wholeheartedly, and maintain aspects of security and flight safety during the homecoming and return flow of Eid al-Fitr 2026,” she added. According to her, through close synergy and coordination with all related parties, Bandara Internasional Radin Inten II, as the air gateway to Lampung Province, is optimistic about maintaining operational readiness and providing wholehearted service to create a colourful journey for users of air transportation in celebrating Eid al-Fitr 2026 with their families in their hometowns.
