The humanoid robotics industry is entering a new, more massive phase. Chinese robotics company Agibot has recorded a significant surge in production, delivering 5,000 humanoid robots in just three months. This figure demonstrates a drastic acceleration in production scale. In comparison, Agibot took about two years to produce the first 1,000 units, followed by an additional year to reach 5,000 units. Now, the same number has been achieved in just three months. This production surge is said to be driven by the maturity of the supply chain and increasingly standardised manufacturing processes. With a more efficient production system, Agibot is reportedly able to increase output while meeting growing market demand. From demo videos shared, Agibot’s humanoid robots can be seen performing repetitive tasks such as folding clothes, arranging items, and folding cardboard boxes. Currently, Agibot’s humanoid robots are reported to be used in various real-world scenarios, no longer just tested in laboratories. From logistics, retail store navigation, hospitality services, to the education sector. The company is also beginning to expand the use of robots to industrial environments, such as assisting production lines. Demand for humanoid robots is not only coming from within China. Agibot states that its products are now used in various regions, including Europe, North America, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Independent research data from January 2026 also shows Agibot’s dominance in the global humanoid robot market. Research firm Omdia estimates that the company has shipped nearly 5,200 units, surpassing its closest rival, Unitree, with around 4,200 units. Meanwhile, US humanoid robot manufacturers like Figure, Agility Robotics, and Tesla are each in the range of 150 units. This phenomenon marks a major shift in the robotics industry, from the experimental stage to large-scale commercial adoption. Humanoid robots are no longer just a concept of future technology but are beginning to become part of daily business operations. Previously, around 90 percent of the world’s humanoid robots were said to be produced in China, and this figure is expected to continue increasing with the expansion of companies like Agibot, as compiled by KompasTekno from GizmoChina and Forbes. Nevertheless, competition in this sector remains open. Several other global companies are still focused on perfecting their technology before entering mass production. However, Agibot’s rapid steps show that production speed could be key to dominating this still early-stage market.
