4th national drag race to begin

JAKARTA (JP): The fourth leg of the national drag race series continues at the Sentul Circuit near Bogor in West Java on Oct. 3.

The race features five categories: the free for all, 1000cc to 2000cc cars, jeeps, Volkswagens and motorcycles.

Among those who have been participating in the series is Canadian Robert J. Paul, who won first place in the free for all category with 52 points after winning three races. Indonesian Herry Agung, competing for the Star Mild team together with Paul, is in second place with 45 points, while Wie Wie Rianto is in third place with 44 points.

The fifth leg of the race takes place on Nov. 7 at the same circuit. The races are sponsored by tobacco company Gudang Garam. Winners of all five categories receive cash prizes and trophies. (ivy)
