488 Vendor Stalls to Enliven Ramadhan Markets in Palangka Raya
Some 488 vendor stalls will be spread across seven Ramadhan market locations in Palangka Raya, according to the acting head of the city’s Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (DPKUKMP), Samsul Rizal.
“There are approximately 488 vendor stalls that will be distributed across the seven Ramadhan market locations. The number of stalls at each site has been adjusted according to the available area and capacity,” Samsul Rizal said in Palangka Raya on Thursday.
He explained that the distribution of Ramadhan market stalls includes 208 stalls in front of SMA Negeri 1 Palangka Raya, 60 stalls at Shalahuddin Mosque at the University of Palangka Raya, 24 stalls at Kahayan Market, 48 stalls at Al Husna Mosque, 38 stalls at Kubah Kecubung Mosque, 70 stalls at Datah Manuah Market, and 40 stalls at the Gedung Juang grounds.
“The number of Ramadhan market locations in 2026 has increased with the addition of two new sites, namely the Gedung Juang grounds and Datah Manuah Market,” Samsul Rizal said.
He noted that the additions would make it easier for residents to find various takjil and iftar culinary offerings. The distribution of Ramadhan market locations is a strategy to ensure that commercial activity is better organised and not concentrated in a single area.
Furthermore, the spread of locations provides greater comfort for visitors and opens up more equitable business opportunities for vendors.
“With locations spread out and capacity adjusted accordingly, residents can choose the nearest Ramadhan market. Meanwhile, vendors also have the opportunity to trade in a more orderly manner,” he added.
