480 Police Personnel Deployed at GBK Today to Secure GRIB Jaya's 15th Anniversary

Jakarta, Kompas.com - A total of 480 police personnel have been deployed to secure the 15th anniversary (HUT) of Gerakan Rakyat Indonesia Bersatu (GRIB) Jaya at Istora Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (10/5/2026). Hundreds of these personnel are positioned at various points around the GBK area to ensure the event runs safely and orderly. Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Regional Police, Commissioner Pol Budi Hermanto, stated that the security measures are part of police services to event participants and the public in the GBK vicinity. “This security is part of police services to the community. We have deployed our personnel to ensure the event runs safely, orderly, and conducive,” Budi said in his official statement on Sunday. He emphasised that the security is conducted professionally, prioritising persuasive and humane approaches. “We have instructed field personnel to prioritise persuasive and humane steps. Security is carried out professionally and proportionately,” he said. Budi also urged event participants to maintain order and follow instructions from on-site officers. Additionally, the public passing through the GBK area is asked to heed traffic information due to situational traffic diversions. “Traffic diversions will be implemented situationally based on field conditions,” he said. He added that the public needing police assistance can contact the emergency line 110. “Indeed, around GBK, we routinely conduct security operations for Kamseltibcarlantas (security, safety, order, and smooth traffic flow) for all community activities, including possible events from GRIB friends,” said Robby. According to him, traffic security is not only focused on the GRIB Jaya anniversary but also to anticipate density during Car Free Day (CFD). “Every Sunday, especially around GBK, we always station traffic personnel for security, including community sports activities later,” he said. He assured that traffic personnel have been placed from morning until evening to anticipate vehicle density and public activities around the event location. “We have anticipated that and stationed personnel from morning until evening,” said Robby.
