48.6 Hectares of Land Affected by Forest Fire in Pemuteran, Buleleng

A forest and land fire that swept through protected and production forest areas in Pemuteran Village, Gerokgak District, Buleleng, Bali, has finally been extinguished. The area affected by the fire is estimated to have reached approximately 48.6 hectares.

Head of the Buleleng Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), I Gede Suyasa, detailed that around 28.21 hectares of the affected land was in a production forest area and 20.39 hectares was in a protected forest area. Suyasa stated that by Sunday (19/7/2026) morning, no more hotspots or plumes of smoke were found at the location.

“The fire is now out. Based on monitoring results, there are no more hotspots or smoke,” Suyasa said on Sunday.

Suyasa explained that the firefighting operation in the hilly area was hampered by difficult terrain. According to him, vegetation consisting of dry grass also caused the fire to spread quickly to several points.

He confirmed there were no casualties or damage to settlements as a result of the forest and land fire, which had been ongoing since Friday (17/7). Suyasa added that the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the relevant agencies.

“Officers are continuing to monitor as a precautionary measure to prevent the fire from reigniting,” he concluded.
