The flooding is caused by high rainfall and overflows from the Kali Cipinang, Kali Cilangkap, and Kali Sunter. “BPBD records that there are currently 46 RT,” stated the DKI Jakarta BPBD. The affected areas are as follows: Jakarta East, comprising 46 RT from: Kelurahan Ceger: 1 RT; Kelurahan Cilangkap: 5 RT; Kelurahan Munjul: 2 RT; Kelurahan Cibubur: 6 RT; Kelurahan Ciracas: 16 RT; Kelurahan Cipinang Muara: 2 RT; Kelurahan Dukuh: 5 RT; Kelurahan Cipinang Melayu: 6 RT; Kelurahan Baru: 1 RT; Kelurahan Pekayon: 2 RT. “Water depths range from 30 to 80 cm,” continued the DKI Jakarta BPBD. The DKI Jakarta BPBD also recorded hundreds of households evacuated due to the flooding. “Number of evacuated households: 201 KK, number of evacuated individuals: 696 people,” added the DKI Jakarta BPBD.
