Hajj pilgrims from Brebes Regency, Central Java, part of SOC 06 Flight Group, are currently undergoing the core ritual of the Hajj, wuquf at Arafat Plain on Tuesday (26 May). Despite extreme heat reaching 45°C, they are reported to be performing their rites with patience, calmness, and devotion.

According to direct reports from Brebes Regency’s Hajj Field Team (TPHD) in Makkah, Azmi Asmuni Majid, the SOC 06 Flight Group comprises 358 pilgrims. Overall, their health is reported to be excellent, accompanied by profound happiness.

“Alhamdulillah, most pilgrims are in good health and filled with happiness. Despite outdoor temperatures soaring to 45 degrees Celsius, they remain patient, calm, and deeply devoted throughout the wuquf rituals,” Azmi Asmuni stated in an official report to Media Indonesia from Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday (26 May).

Although the majority are in good health, some pilgrims require special medical attention. Two are participating in the Safari Wuquf programme due to physical limitations, while another is under intensive observation at Arafah Health Post.

Meanwhile, Hajj Guidance Officer (Bimbad) for Brebes Flight Group 09, M. Amrun Aziz, continually reminds pilgrims of the significance of the Arafah wuquf. Amrun Aziz cites a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad highlighting the critical nature of this ritual.

Amrun emphasises that the time pilgrims are experiencing is not ordinary, but a precious moment filled with divine forgiveness, mercy, and answered prayers from Allah SWT.

“Let us cultivate a truly devoted heart, increase our istighfar (seeking forgiveness), dhikr (remembrance), talbiyah (chanting), and offer our best prayers. Set aside worldly concerns for a moment, as this is when Allah opens the doors of His forgiveness widest for His servants,” Amrun encouraged the pilgrims inside the tents.

As the ritual neared its conclusion, the tents were filled with a solemn and emotional atmosphere during the collective prayers. Sobs of joy and repentance erupted as pilgrims prayed to return home with a blessed Hajj.

“O Allah, make our wuquf one of sincerity, tears of repentance, and blessings, and return us to our homeland with a blessed Hajj and forgiven sins,” Amrun prayed.
