JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - As many as 457 passengers from six long-distance trains were unable to depart from Gambir Station on Tuesday (28/4/2026) due to a collision between the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and a KRL at Bekasi Timur Station. The affected passengers were intending to travel to various cities in Java, including Cilacap, Semarang, and Surabaya. “We at KAI Daop 1 Jakarta extend our apologies to train passengers, particularly those at Gambir Station,” said Manager of Public Relations for PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop I, Franoto Wibowo, at Gambir Station on Tuesday. Meanwhile, no long-distance train departures from Pasar Senen Station were cancelled on Tuesday. Franoto stated that 34 train journeys from Senen Station proceeded normally today. Nevertheless, KAI recorded delays in departure schedules from both Senen and Gambir stations. For departures from Gambir, the maximum delay was 120 minutes or two hours. “Whereas at Pasar Senen Station, the delay range is between 20 minutes and 227 minutes,” Franoto said. “Once again, KAI apologises for the inconvenience to passengers due to the train delays,” he added. Franoto further explained that passengers affected by the cancelled train journeys could opt for a refund or ticket reimbursement mechanism. Refund applications can be made up to seven days after the scheduled train departure. Previously, the collision occurred between the Cikarang-bound KRL number PLB 5568A and the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek on the Gambir–Surabaya Pasar Turi route around 20:52 WIB on Monday night. The incident took place on the platform at Bekasi Timur Station KM 28+920.
