A total of 450 Indonesian Army (TNI) soldiers have been deployed to guard the border between the Republic of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. The troops, from the static 117th Ksatria Yudha Infantry Battalion of the Iskandar Muda Regional Military Command, departed from Krung Geukueh Public Port in Aceh Utara, Aceh, on Thursday, 2 July 2026.
